The following is considered illegal on NeoPets and will get all your accounts immediately FROZEN without an Official Warning first:

• Asking anyone for their password for any reason.

• Attempting to gain access to other peoples accounts.

• Pretending to be NeoStaff.

• Any kind of password or shop scamming including: Posting any website that asks for passwords, fake login screens, or anything that tells you to change your email address.

• Cybering, dirty talk or discussing anything sexual is not permitted on NeoPets. (Even asking about it will get you frozen)

• Posting any kind of sexual or pornographic materials, hentei, or websites anywhere on NeoPets.

• Rude, sexual or profane account names or pet names.

• Neositting is only a scam to try to gain other people's passwords, and it is not permitted. Never ask for a neositter, and NEVER give out your password for any reason.

• Abusive or foul language of any kind. No profanity (and using symbols to cover it up is not fooling anyone)

• Using automatic programs to use NeoPets, or to cheat our flash games (ex: refreshers or auto-buyers, etc)

• Any kind of cheating (on flash games, stocks, trading post, etc)

• "Insider Trading" - do not try to inflate the stock market by enlisting people to buy certain stocks. (An entire Guild was deleted because of this.)

• Abusing the referral program to sign up multiple accounts

• Creating multiple accounts just to use them to cheat or abuse flash games, Tombola, Shrine, Fruit Machine, Snowager, Kiosk, Mystery Pic etc... Quote from NeoPets: Yes, you may have more than one account, "As long as the accounts are active and you are not using them to cheat they will not be frozen. We are only freezing people who are creating accounts purely to get items or neopoints through cheating. We are getting VERY strict with multiple accounts. We will freeze anybody who creates multiple accounts in order to gain a financial advantage over others. Basically, if you have a couple of extra accounts to store neopets, or items, or a guild that is fine. However, if you log into multiple accounts on a daily basis and use the shrine, tombola etc.. to get neopoints... then wave bye-bye to ALL your accounts. Please don't do it, and when your accounts are frozen please dont email us asking for them back, because they will never be unfrozen. You may have up to 4 other accounts for guilds, galleries, storage, and extra neopets We do not mind if you use your other 4 accounts to gain Neopoints via your Shop, or the Trading Post, as these Neopoints do not come out of thin air, they require you to actually be selling items. If you already have more than 4 accounts, but do not use them to make Neopoints, don't worry thats fine - just please don't create any more."

• If you have already received a warning for something but you ignored it and did it again, your account will get frozen.

• Special Note: If NeoPets has reason to believe that you may have been "hacked" they will temporarily freeze your accounts just to keep the hacker from getting all your stuff. Why do they do that? Simple: Once a hacker knows your password, they can log into your account anytime they want. Better to have NeoPets freeze your accounts for a few days and give it back to you intact, then to have the would-be hacker log into your account and wipe you out! When the rightful owner contacts them, they will first verify that the account is yours, then return it to you safe and sound, telling you to change your password.

Reasons That You Got An Official Warning

It works like this: Break one rule, and you will get an official warning from The NeoPets Team. If you ignore the warning and do it again, you will get frozen.

The following are actual warnings from The NeoPets Team. If you receive a warning, it will always come from their staff account name: theneopetsteam account. Anyone else who sends you a "warning" is just someone pretending to be staff you should report them immediatey.  abuse@neopets.com. Yes, NeoStaff do have personal accounts on NeoPets, and yes, they may neomail you from time to time, but Official Warnings will only come from the theneopetsteam. When in doubt, look up their user's profile. If they are NeoStaff, you will see this at the bottom of their profile in big red letters: "Borovan is a NeoPets Monitor - This means that they are entrusted with looking after the site, and given the power to delete messageboards and noticeboards." Comments in parenthesis on the warnings listed below are my own additions/explanations:

• Bad Guild Polls - The Guild Poll you created is not appropriate for a family website and has been deleted. This is the ONLY warning you will receive about this.

• Bad Jokes - Inappropriate jokes/posts about sex, porn, race, drugs, suicide, rape or anything using profanity on NeoPets.

• Bad Names or Descriptions - Pet names, account names or pet/user descriptions with profanity, sexual content, or other inappropriate content are not allowed. (Your pet will be deleted and your bad name or profile description will be cleared.)

• Bad shopkeeper names or descriptions - Do not give your shop or shopkeeper profane or sexual names or put profanity in your shop description. Profanity of any type is not permitted on NeoPets. (Your shop will be cleared)

• Beauty Contest Cheat - Do not enter other people's artwork as your own. Beauty contest entries must be your own work! (your pet will be disqualified too)

• Beauty Contest Vote Scamming - Do not promise other players items or NeoPoints if they vote for a certain NeoPet in the Beauty Contest. This is cheating and is not allowed. (Your pet will be disqualified too)

• Breast/Penis size - NeoPets is not the place to discuss breast sizes, or the size of anything on your body.

• Chain Letters - Do not spread chain letters, they are spam mails that annoy other users. If you have been sent one, just delete it and report the sender to abuse@neopets.com.

• Chat Rooms - Live chat rooms are not allowed in your shop, guild, pet page or any other pages on NeoPets. Neither is posting links to other websites that have live chat rooms. (Your shop, guild, pet page, etc. will be cleared)

• Cheats - Posting, using or linking to cheats of any kind. (Answers to Poogle Solitare, Cliffhanger, etc. Post them on your own personal websites, but not on NeoPets).

• Commercial websites - Please do not advertise commercial websites on NeoPets. (That means, any non personal websites, especially those that promote money making ideas, rival sites, etc)

• Contests - Contests or raffles are not permitted. The majority of these are scams to get free NP or make people buy over-priced items. (Your shop will be cleared if you have a contest in it ? this includes lotteries, drawings, offering prizes, etc)

• Cyber What? - DO NOT discuss cybering here. Cybering, dirty talk or discussing anything sexual is not permitted on NeoPets. (You get this warning if you ask what *cybering* is. But if you actually do it on Neopets, whether on posts, in neomails, etc, you will get immediately frozen. Neopets takes that very, very seriously. All your accounts will be frozen and you will not get your accounts back ever if you do.)

• Dating Agency/People or Pets - Do not attempt to use Neopets as a dating agency, this includes advertising dating/mating/marriage websites or chat boards for you or your Neopet. Neopets is not the place to try to find a boyfriend/girlfriend for yourself, your friend or your Neopet. (Your pets are too young to date or mate, so get over it. N lking fr boyfriends/girlfriends for either yourself or your pets. )

• Dating Service/I'm sexy - Do not attempt to use NeoPets as a dating service, this includes advertising dating/mating/marriage websites or chat boards for you or your neopet. Do not discuss how sexy you think you are or someone else is. (No one cares how sexy you are, deal with it)

• Drugs/Alcohol - Do not discuss drugs or alcohol on this site, whether you are using them or know someone who does. It is inappropriate for a family based site. (This includes posts, neomails, making pets or accounts with druggy names, etc)

• Giving personal info - Be careful! Never give out personal information online to people you do not know well offline. Please check our Privacy Policy for other online safety tips. (This warning is more of a safety precaution. Always be careful about your privacy and don't give out phone numbers, email addresses, etc.)

• Gross or violent content - Do not talk about disgusting or violent situations on Neopets. It is extremely inappropriate for a family oriented website.

• GuestBook Promotion - Please do not post or advertise links to your guestbook. Asking people to provide personal information is against our terms and conditions. (Also, scammers are fond of asking for passwords in their guestbooks too. Beware of this.)

• Bad Guild Name or Content - Your Guild has been removed because of the inappropriate name and subject matter you chose. (This means, guilds with sexual or lewd content or names. Hacking/cheating guilds, etc. Once a guild is deleted it can never be returned. If the guild is bad enough, you will be frozen too.)

• Hacked - Contrary to what many people claim, no one has ever hacked into NeoPets, accessed user information, accounts or usernames. The ONLY means by which a user can have an account stolen is when they inadvertently or intentionally gives away their password. (This warning is mainly for the people who keep making posts like: *OMG, I was just hacked! Please donate np!*, etc.)

• Harrassment, Insults or Threats - NeoPets does not tolerate harassment or insults of any individuals or groups. (This includes insults to race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, etc. of any other players via chat or messaging. Which means, hatred and bigotry will not be tolerated on NeoPets. Ever. Also, you can report anyone who sends you harassing neomails.)

• Hentei - Hentai and other such pictures are strictly forbidden on Neopets. Do not even discuss it on this site. (For those who don't know, hentei refers to Japanese anime porn.)

• Innappropriate Pictures - Some of the pictures in your shop/guild are not appropriate for a family website. Your shop/guild has been cleared (This includes pictures, banners, dolls, etc of nudity, profane text, gross or violent content, etc)

• Language (name calling) - Do not call people names or discuss a person's sexual orientation. This is a family site, and the word fag is not suitable!

• Language (horny, slut, etc) - Do not use inappropriate language on NeoPets. The word horny (or slut, etc) and the topic itself are inappropriate for this site.

• Language (insults of any kind) - Watch your language! Neopets does not allow sexual discussions, profanity, name-calling or insults.

• Links, Banners not for kids - Religious, political, or third party advertisement banners or links are not allowed in your shop, guild, pet page, or any other pages on NeoPets. (For legal reasons, NeoPets cannot endorse such views. So stick to kid friendly topics only, please.)

• Money Making Tips/Scams - Promising people money-making tips or million Neopoint secrets and then giving them nothing in return is a scam. Encouraging people to do the same is even worse. Your shop has been cleared.

• Monitors *Do* Exist - stop taunting them - Ahem... these boards ARE monitored 24/7 by REAL staff members (even on holidays) so play nice! (Never a good idea to annoy the paid staff members who police the site. Oh, and, Monitors are far too busy to answer your posts while working -- so stop posting to them.)

• Naked - NeoPets is not the place to discuss nudity of any sort. This is a family site and being naked is not suitable! (Sorry, no streaking on NeoPets, among other things)

• Neositting - Neositting is only a scam to try to gain other people's passwords, and it is not permitted. Never ask for a neositter, and NEVER give out your password for any reason. (This warning is given to people innocently looking for a neositter. However, if you post that you are a neositter, you will get immediately frozen. Here's a secret if you can't afford to put your pets in the neolodge: your pets cannot die. Let 'em go hungry if you need to go away. They will be right there safe and sound when you get back)

• Offering Services for NP or Items - You may not offer web design or other services and use NeoPets images or materials to earn money, Neopoints, or NeoPets' Items. This is a violation of NeoPets copyright and trademark rights and is strictly forbidden. (What does all that mean? It means you cannot 'charge' people for making banners, dolls, backgrounds, guild makeovers, etc. By the way, it also means that you can't sell ads, offer your services, or otherwise earn real money, NeoPets' Items, or NeoPoints either on web pages that contain their pictures and other Materials, or by using their pictures or other Materials, such as by offering to make NeoPets banners or backgrounds for others. Got it? Good.)

• Party Boards - Pool parties, house parties, spin the bottle, truth or dare, beach parties, hot tub parties, and other party boards are not allowed on NeoPets. (That includes *dances*, *get-togethers*, or parties of any kind, etc)

• Password/Account Sharing - Do not ask people to share an account with you, or offer to share yours. Do not ask or offer passwords either. This almost ALWAYS winds up with someone losing items or NP.

• Pets in 'heat' - Role playing should not include any sexual, lewd or adult rated activities. That means no lupes or any other pets in heat, looking for mates or "suckling"! The same goes for any kind of sexual roleplay on NeoPets. (For the love of god, stop the 'suckling' posts in roleplay. Nothing sexual will ever be permitted on NeoPets and using 'roleplay" as an excuse won't fool anyone.)

• Poetry Thief - Copying someone elses poem and putting your name on it is called plagiarism, and it is definitely NOT allowed on NeoPets. (Same goes for stories, artwork, etc.)

• Politics - Do not discuss political views on NeoPets. (This is mostly for legal reasons)

• Profanity - Profanity is not allowed anywhere on NeoPets, and using spaces or symbols to try to hide it is not fooling anyone. (This refers to Minor profanity like @$$ when used in a non-sexual, non-insulting way. Ex: 'My pet kicks @$$!' etc. Major profanity will get your account immediately frozen.)

• Profanity or Sexual Comments in Battledome - Do not use profanity or sexual language in the Battledome. This is an area that is monitored 24/7 and the same rules apply as the rest of the site.

• Profanity in Song Lyrics or Movie Quotes - Do not post the lyrics to songs or movie quotes with profanity or sexual topics.

• Random Event Scams - Do not copy the 'Something has happened' code into your shop. Scamming people into buying your items is not allowed! (this may seem silly to people but many scammers use fake 'Something Has Happened' to lure people into giving their passwords. Don't Blame NeoPets fr this -- blame the nasty scammers.)

• Rape/Sexual Discussions - Rape and other sexual discussions are not an appropriate topic. Do not discuss rape or sex on this site.

• Religion - Do not discuss religious views on NeoPets. (This is mostly for legal reasons)

• Posting 'sex' or 'sexy' etc - Do not post the word sex or sexy on Neopets. This is a family site, not a dating agency. Using spaces and special characters will not fool anyone either!

• Selling Accounts or Pets - You may not sell, trade, give or buy a NeoPets account or Pets for Neopoints, money, NeoPets' Items, or anything else.

• Selling 'Secrets' - Cheating is not allowed, and there are no quick and easy ways to get rich. Do not buy, trade or sell alleged secrets or tricks anywhere on Neopets.

• Sexual Orientation - NeoPets is not the place to discuss anything sexual, including homosexuality, a persons sexual orientation, or their preferences. (Get it through your heads: NeoPets is a children's website. So no sex talk please.)

• Sexual Topics - Do not discuss sex on NeoPets. This is a family oriented site and sex is an inappropriate topic. (No talk of sex/sexual situations. Asking for mates as in friends is ok, talking about mating is not!)

• Sexual Web Symbols - Sexual symbols, especially symbols that represent male or female body parts, are not permitted on NeoPets. (so no "creative" sex symbols please, ex: (.)(.), (.Y.), etc, etc. )

• Sexy Pics - Do NOT ask for or offer sexy pics here. NeoPets is not a dating agency.

• Shop Scamming - Scamming people into buying your items is not allowed! Do NOT promise shoppers things that they will not receive! (Minor shop scams or trickery. This is for those who try and trick people into buying from them. They will then add their own message to it, such as 'Buy from this shop and receive a free Paintbrush!' Your shop, trades, etc, will be cleared if you have received this warning.)

• Spamming - Do not spam the message boards, guild boards, or other site areas. (What is 'spamming'? Flooding the Chat boards with messages and/or repetitive ads)

• Stripping/Strippers - NeoPets is a family website, it is not the place to discuss stripping or strippers.

• Suicide - Suicide is not an appropriate topic. Do not discuss death or suicide on this site.

• Testing the Filters - Do not post or encourage other players to post inappropriate words to 'test' the message filters. (Those 'Hey, did you know that the word 'sexy' gets changed to 'stupid' on NeoPets?' posts got so annoying, NeoPets put a stop to it with this warning. Post those words at your own risk.)

• Underwear - NeoPets is not the place to discuss underwear, either your own, or another person's.

Once again, if you ignore the warning and do it again, you will get frozen.
